Peter Doocy Questions Biden on Kamala Harris's Plan to Distance Herself From His Policies

Peter Doocy from Fox News asked President Biden if he's concerned about Vice President Kamala Harris distancing herself from his economic policies.

Harris is reportedly rebranding herself for the 2024 election. She might signal some differences with Biden, especially on economic issues. Polls have shown these policies as a weak spot for Biden. But when Doocy asked Biden, he denied that Harris would do so.

“She’s not going to,” Biden responded.

Doocy didn’t stop there. He questioned White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre about it. She defended Harris' involvement in Biden's economic policies and highlighted their focus on strengthening the middle class.

Jean-Pierre said Bidenomics is something both the president and the vice president have worked on. She emphasized their efforts to build an economy that benefits the middle class and promotes equity.

Harris reportedly plans to address inflation and lower costs at a rally in North Carolina. Inflation has been a major challenge for Biden, spiking significantly during his term.

The Consumer Price Index, which tracks the price of everyday goods, recently fell below 3% for the first time in two years.

Polls show Harris trailing Trump on economic issues in key states like Pennsylvania, Michigan, and Wisconsin. However, in a separate poll, she edged out Trump slightly, despite criticism of Biden’s economic policies.

Trump accused Harris of copying his idea to eliminate taxes on tips for service workers. Harris' campaign spokesperson said it’s part of her own agenda, separate from Biden’s.
