'Pawn Stars' Boss Opens Up About Why Trump Apologized to Him

Rick Harrison and Donald Trump share more than fame—they’ve got a personal connection.

In an interview with “In Depth with Graham Bensinger,” Harrison revealed Trump once called to apologize after a backstage mess involving the Secret Service.

Harrison, a known conservative, also hinted that he might finally consider getting into politics.

He recalled the time Trump was in town for a rally in 2018. Harrison was asked to announce him onstage.

“So I show up with my son Jake and my daughter Serena,” Harrison said. “White House staff goes, ‘Hey Rick, how’s it going? Come on, come this way.’”

But it quickly went sideways.

“We go to backstage and Secret Service goes, ‘He’s not on the list,’” Harrison remembered. “They’re going like, ‘But it’s Rick Harrison.’ … ‘Doesn’t matter.’”

No one could help—not even the senator he tried to call.

“Secret Service throws me into the public and I am getting mobbed,” he said. “And we had to leave. We could not stay there. And I’m f----ng pissed.”

His son was crushed. Harrison was furious.

“So I get a block from the house and then Senator Heller’s number pops up,” he said. “He’s like, ‘Rick, before you say a word, the President of the United States would like to talk to you.’”

Harrison said Trump got right to the point.

“‘Rick, I am really sorry. This is all my fault … They should have informed the Secret Service … Will you please come back down to the convention center?’”

“And you’re not going to tell the president of the United States ‘no,’ right?” Harrison said.

Though he’s long brushed off political aspirations, that could be changing.

“Give it a few years. I might,” he admitted. “I know I can’t completely change the world … but I would like to leave it in a better place.”

“I do a lot of work with charity work and stuff like that,” he added. “So maybe. I think I would do a good job at it.”

Trump and Harrison grew even closer after tragedy struck in 2024.

Harrison’s son Adam died of a fentanyl overdose. Afterward, Harrison praised Trump’s willingness to confront the crisis.

“He’s an incredible individual,” Harrison said. “He wants to do something about this … One of the major ones is get the damn stuff out of the country.”

He said fentanyl is so easy to get, “anybody” could afford a pill. His solution?

“Start arresting the people selling it … close down the border … make a fentanyl death rare.”

Harrison didn’t hold back in blaming politicians.

“They’re literally letting it happen,” he said. “They’re not doing anything about it.”

He told Fox News Digital the current border policy is a disaster.

“Nothing is getting done about it,” he said. “It’s the equivalent of a 737 crashing every single day … and the politicians don’t want to talk about it.”

“It’s all coming right across the border,” Harrison added. “And they won’t do anything about it.”

On January 19, 2024, Adam Harrison was found dead at a guesthouse near Las Vegas. He had been living there for two weeks.
