Joe Scarborough criticized his network on Tuesday. His show, "Morning Joe," was left off the air after the assassination attempt on former President Trump.
NBC News took over the program with special reporting. This move surprised many political and media observers.
Scarborough addressed the confusion on Tuesday. "We were told there would be one news feed across all NBC channels," he said. "That didn't happen. We don’t know why."
Fox News Digital reported the show's team was informed but left shocked. "We were very surprised," Scarborough noted. "We were very disappointed."
Scarborough joked they would be ready next time. Co-hosts Brzezinski and Geist also expressed their desire to be on air.
"This show is about having hard conversations," Brzezinski said. "Now more than ever, we should be on air."
Scarborough hinted at quitting if it happened again. "The newsfeed will be us, or they can get somebody else," he said.
MSNBC did not respond for comment immediately. "Morning Joe" hosts were shocked on Monday.
Network leaders had informed them about the news feed plan. Scarborough and Brzezinski agreed to it.
However, regular programming continued after "Morning Joe." Hosts like Andrea Mitchell and Chris Jansing were on air.
Left-wing hosts covered the Republican National Convention later. MSNBC faced criticism for sidelining "Morning Joe."
A CNN report suggested fear of inappropriate comments as a reason. MSNBC denied this claim.
"Morning Joe" is known for anti-Trump commentary. The hosts are friendly with President Biden.
On Monday, Scarborough criticized security failings. Trump was wounded, and one supporter was killed in the shooting.
