A 30-year-old Texas mother was arrested on Friday after she went undercover as her 13-year-old daughter and attended her classes in order to prove how bad school security really is.
Casey Garcia documented her social experiment on YouTube, showing how she dyed her hair dark and put on makeup the way her daughter wears it.
In a video posted Wednesday on YouTube, Casey Garcia shows herself dying her hair dark and putting on makeup to disguise herself as her daughter before entering the school to test on-campus security.
In another video, she says that she gave her daughter’s I.D. number when staff asked her for it and was asked if she was signed in before she was allowed to go in.
The school, Garcia Enriquez Middle School campus in San Elizario is located around 20 miles southeast of El Paso, according to KCNC-TV.
Garcia’s video shows the under-five-foot and 105 pound-mother strolling through the campus’ hallways seemingly unidentified by staff and other students.
In the video, she is shown greeting students and faculty on her way to her classes as a black face mask covers her chin, mouth and nose.
A day after her first video, Garcia then shared another video defending herself and explaining, “Why I posed as my 13 year old daughter. A raw but real answer.”

“We need better security at our schools — this is what I tried to prove,” Garcia said. “I kind of feel that I proved it.”
“There have been one too many mass shootings,” she added, stating that schools need more security measures.
She also posted the following video shortly before police arrested her.
“I’m just letting you know that I am recording,” she can be heard telling officers. One cop replied, “That’s okay, ma’am, so are we.”
The undercover mother has been charged “criminal trespass and tampering with government records,” according to KCNC.
