Joe Rogan praised Vice President J.D. Vance on Tuesday. He reacted to Vance’s CBS News interview with Margaret Brennan.
Vance was on “Face the Nation” Sunday. Brennan pressed him on the economy, immigration, and Trump’s future plans. Rogan called the interview “fuckin’ amazing” and “a masterclass.” He said Vance expertly dismantled Brennan’s talking points.
“He’s great. Thank God for that guy,” Rogan said. “He’s so good at dismantling those dopey people and just breaking down — she was like, ‘This is a country built on immigrants.’ He’s like, ‘Yes, that doesn’t mean that 240 years later we have to have the dumbest immigration policy possible.’”
Brennan asked about Trump’s executive order ending birthright citizenship for illegal migrants. She pointed out that America was “founded by immigrants.” Vance agreed but pushed back.
“This is a very unique country, and it was founded by some immigrants and some settlers,” Vance said. “But just because we were founded by immigrants, doesn’t mean that 240 years later that we have to have the dumbest immigration policy in the world.”
He argued that citizenship should prioritize legal, permanent residents. “America should actually look out for the interests of our citizens first,” he said. “If you’re here permanently and lawfully, your kid becomes an American citizen. If you’re not, why would we make those people’s children American citizens permanently?”
Brennan then pressed him on Trump’s economic plan. She asked which executive orders would lower prices. Vance defended Trump’s actions.
“We have done a lot and there have been a number of executive orders that have caused, already, jobs to start coming back into our country,” he said. “More capital investment, more job creation in our economy is one of the things that’s going to drive down prices for all consumers, but also raise wages so that people can afford to buy the things that they need.”
He acknowledged that change takes time. “Prices are going to come down, but it’s going to take a little bit of time, right?” he said. “The president has been president for all of five days. I think that in those five days, he’s accomplished more than Joe Biden did in four years.”
Vance also pointed to Trump’s executive orders on energy. He said they would help lower costs for Americans.
On Monday, Megyn Kelly and Steve Bannon weighed in. They criticized Brennan for her “laziness” in the interview. Both said she was no match for Vance.
