UFC President Dana White refused to shut down the UFC even at the peak of the COVID-19 pandemic. While every other sports league was shut down, the UFC continued holding events.
Dana White was ripped by the mainstream media for having UFC events in May 2020. Even though the UFC was taking every precaution possible, not to mention the UFC consists of the fittest people on the planet, the mainstream media still attacked White for pushing forward.
By the end of 2020 people were coming around and realizing White was right. During an appearance on Tucker Carlson Tonight, White ripped the media for what they did during the pandemic.
That's what the media does. The media does nothing. They never built anything. No one depends on them for a paycheck. But all they do is sit back and criticize: "I'm going to kill people." "I care more about money than human life." And the New York Times as you can imagine was blasting me daily.
Dana White also has a very strong friendship with Donald Trump. In fact, they have been friends for decades. He even spoke at the Republican National Convention when Trump asked him.

When the UFC didn't cower in fear they took advantage of a massive opportunity for growth. They took all of the necessary precautions and kept running their business. And as a result their brand became even bigger and something people can point to as how things should have been run during the pandemic.
