College Basketball Coach Gets Into Heated Confrontation With Fan After Loss: 'I will knock you out'

Creighton Bluejays pulled off a stunning upset against No. 1 UConn, winning 85-66. It was their first victory over a top-ranked team.

As fans celebrated in Omaha, a video caught Huskies' coach Dan Hurley in a heated moment. He seemed to threaten a fan, saying, "knock you out." Another voice chimed in, "Welcome to Omaha!"

UConn's 14-game winning streak was snapped, just days after a big win over Marquette. They were the unanimous No. 1 in the AP poll, a first for this season.

Hurley reflected on the loss, saying, "It kind of felt like we just ran into a buzz saw there."

Creighton led by 23 points mid-game. UConn narrowed the gap to 10 but couldn't overcome Creighton's lead. The upset was sealed after UConn went scoreless on five drives.

Creighton's coach, Greg McDermott, praised his team. "We played a really good game and we beat an incredible team," he said. He acknowledged UConn's strength but affirmed, "We’re pretty good as well."

The loss moved UConn to 24-3 overall and 14-2 in the Big East. Creighton improved to 20-7 and 10-6 within the conference.
