Coca-Cola's Trump Approved Beverage Rolls Out Across the Country

Coca-Cola is officially reintroducing soda made with real cane sugar across the U.S. — a move that comes just months after President Donald Trump publicly urged the company to do so.

A Coca-Cola spokesperson confirmed to The New York Post that a 12-ounce glass bottle version of its classic soda made with U.S. cane sugar will begin rolling out in select markets this fall. The company said the product offers fans “a classic and timeless way to enjoy their Coca-Cola Original Taste made with U.S. cane sugar.”

Coca-Cola Chief Financial Officer John Murphy told Bloomberg News that the rollout will happen gradually.

“It’s going to be a measured roll-out,” Murphy said. “There is only a certain amount of cane sugar available in the United States.”

The launch follows Trump’s July announcement on Truth Social that he had spoken directly with Coca-Cola executives about bringing back “real cane sugar” — and that they agreed.

“I have been speaking to Coca-Cola about using REAL Cane Sugar in Coke in the United States, and they have agreed to do so,” Trump wrote. “This will be a very good move by them — You’ll see. It’s just better!”

Coca-Cola later confirmed in its second-quarter earnings report that it planned to debut a version made with real sugar this fall, calling it part of the company’s “ongoing innovation agenda.”

The shift marks a nostalgic return to the brand’s original recipe. Coca-Cola replaced cane sugar with high-fructose corn syrup in the 1980s after tariffs made sugar more expensive and government subsidies made corn syrup cheaper.

Until now, American consumers could only find Mexican Coca-Cola, made with cane sugar and sold in glass bottles, at select retailers — often at a premium price.

With the new U.S. version, Coca-Cola fans nationwide will soon be able to taste the real-sugar classic without paying import prices.
