A bloody brawl broke out near the University of California, Berkeley on Monday — just hours before a Turning Point USA event honoring the late Charlie Kirk.
The “This Is The Turning Point” tour stop, featuring Christian author Dr. Frank Turek and comedian Rob Schneider, drew hundreds of supporters — and a swarm of left-wing agitators. It came exactly two months after TPUSA founder Charlie Kirk was assassinated at a Utah campus event on September 10.
The fight erupted around 4:30 p.m. Pacific. Two men were seen trading punches as blood poured from one man’s face while onlookers cheered. Video captured by Fox News Digital shows protesters waving signs, shouting slogans, and wearing keffiyehs — a familiar uniform at recent anti-Israel and anti-Trump demonstrations.
Police struggled to control the mob, suiting up with shields and batons as the chaos grew. At least two people were arrested by 6 p.m., according to the Berkeley Police Department. One of the suspects faces a battery charge.
UC Berkeley officials tried to distance the incident from the school, claiming the fight happened just off campus. But the violence mirrored the same hostility conservative groups have faced there for years.
Dr. Frank Turek, who mentored Kirk, said he had been determined to attend the Berkeley stop. “If I could go to any one event with him, it would be that one,” he told Fox News last week. “I wanted to go to UC Berkeley because it’s so progressive and liberal — and I wanted to show that Christianity is true.”
After the event, agitators surrounded the exits, shouting obscenities and threatening attendees as they left. Police eventually escorted some guests away from the venue for safety.
Once again, a Turning Point USA event ended with violence from the same side that preaches “tolerance.”
