Paula White has been President Trump's spiritual advisor since the beginning of his presidency if I'm not mistaken. She's definitely not the best choice, but she's not the worst either. I know that if I were president, she wouldn't be my choice for a spiritual leader.

White is catching some backlash over a recent statement she made during in prayer during a "sermon" earlier this year.

While praying, she appears to petition of God for him to cause miscarriages.

The Washington Post reported on the big “miscarriage” controversy on Sunday:

In video of the Jan. 5 sermon, posted by the liberal advocacy group Right Wing Watch, televangelist pastor Paula White breathlessly calls on Jesus Christ to “command all satanic pregnancies to miscarry right now.”

“We declare that anything that’s been conceived in satanic wombs, that it will miscarry, it will not be able to carry forth any plan of destruction, any plan of harm,” White said before an auditorium of congregants. …

White’s words are largely being interpreted literally — that she wishes for evil women to have miscarriage…

There has been some discussion on what she actually meant by her words and the way I see it, there are at least three possibilities:

1. She really is wishing for miscarriages of those who she believes are wicked people.

2. She believes that humans can be impregnated by demons and wants those pregnancies to result in miscarriages.

3. She is speaking metaphorically and she's simply saying that and plans that Satan has in the works, she prays that God would stop them before they come to fruition.

Her theology is so wacky though that there's no sure way of knowing what she may have been saying. I'd like to give her the benefit of the doubt and say it's option 3.

Paula White did respond to the criticism and said, “I don’t normally respond but clearly this has been taken out of context. I was praying Eph 6:12 that we wrestle not against flesh and blood. Anything that has been conceived by demonic plans, for it to be cancelled and not prevail in your life. That is- any plans to hurt people.”

“Let’s be clear what is really going on…this is a disingenuous attempt to use words out of context for political gain. I will just keep praying!”

Here is what Ephesians 6:12 says, For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places.
