NextGen America released a progressive political ad that took a very unique approach to portraying Republicans. The organization, which was founded by Tom Steyer, parodies the "catch it before it's too late" drug addiction commercials.
The video uses a mother/narrator talking about her son.
"I started noticing some issues with him maybe in middle school," the mother says while looking at graduation photos of her son.
Per Daily Wire:
The mother then talks about her son stealing from "less fortunate" kids, and how his confidence didn’t translate into attention from women. During this portion of the narration, a photo is shown in which the son is wearing a Trump tee shirt and yelling at a woman while holding a sign that reads "Baby Killer."
She speaks about her son visiting home frequently during college, but mostly to have her do his laundry. In yet another photo, a Trump tee shirt is prominently placed at the top of his laundry basket.
Then the commercial really drives its point home.
"It wasn’t until I met his college buddies that I realized it might be too late," the mother says as a photo of the Charlottesville white nationalist march is shown.
"Only a mother can catch the signs early. This Mother’s Day, talk to your child about the GOP," the mother implores as she downs a martini in one swig. "I wish I had."
The commercial ends with the caption: "Talk to your child about the Republican Party."
So this video is instructing its viewers to guide their children away from the Republican Party. Why? Because they are racists who threaten women and steal money from less fortunate. Of course!
