There's pandering and then there's Democrat-level pandering. While meeting with the residents of Kenosha, Wisconsin, Joe Biden disputed the fact that American schools claim a white man invented the light bulb.
“Why in God’s name don’t we teach history in history classes?” Biden said during an event at Grace Lutheran Church. “A black man invented the light bulb. not a white guy named Edison. Okay? There’s so much. Did anybody know?”

There is a lot of debate on whether or not Edison can take sole credit for the light bulb, he invented it in 1879 and patented it in 1880. Lewis Latimer, a black man, designed a carbon light bulb filament in 1881 and patented it in 1882.
Though Latimer did improve the bulb's durability, he did not invent the light bulb.

And what it is is an illiberal, autocratic ideology that bout 30 percent of the country, roughly, are enamored with. They are full-on 100 percent committed to the cult of personality that is at the core of Trumpism. A cult of personality built around Donald Trump.
