King Governor of California, Gavin Newsome once again seems to think that he is above the law.
I would say that he's definitely made the top 10 list of people that I dislike the most in the U.S. He's a conniving tyrant and he's a liar.
Just prior to the Fourth of July, Newsom made the decision closed down wineries once again because of the spike in COVID-19 cases, yet he kept his own winery open for the Fourth of July weekend.
Now, since the federal government released some records regard the Paycheck Protection Program, we know that his business, the Plumpjack Winery received a loan.
Businesses tied to California Gov. Gavin Newsom, Lt. Gov. Eleni Kounalakis and two of the state’s legislative leaders were among those that received federal loans aimed at keeping small businesses afloat during the coronavirus pandemic, records released Monday showed.
A Northern California winery and hospitality company, PlumpJack, founded and partly owned by Newsom, received a loan worth $150,000 to $350,000 from the Paycheck Protection Program, according to data released by the U.S. Treasury Department.
Before taking office as governor in 2019, Newsom announced he would step away from his businesses and put his assets in a blind trust managed by a family friend and attorney.
He was asked about why the business felt it needed a loan and it immediately triggered him.
The man asked, "Some data released today by the federal government shows at least one business that you own received some loans to stay open during the COVID-19 pandemic. I know that before you took office you placed those companies into a blind trust, but I'm wondering if you could address that issue and why the company that you own felt the need to receive that loan?"
“You would have to ask the people that are running those businesses. It’s in a blind trust. Period. Full stop,” Newsom said.
It's obvious that he was defensive, otherwise, he wouldn't have added the "Period. Full stop." Essentially, by saying that he's saying, "I'm not answering that, not get lost."
If you're into ready body language, take a look at his little puckered-lip smile as soon as he finished answering the question, he's very pleased with himself.
