This is about as bad as a robbery can go. And armed robber shot himself in the groin while trying to rob a convenience store.

Frederico Luis Acosta, pulled out a gun during the robbery attempt. During the interaction with the man working and another customer, Acosta accidentally shot himself as he was putting away his weapon.

Acosta's robbery attempt likely would have prevailed if a customer had not walked in the store who had no idea what was going on.

Acosta confronted the customer and began pointing his gun at the man, which prompted the man in the white shirt to raise his hands and retreat to the back corner of the store.

When Acosta was apparently convinced the customer was not a threat, he began to put his gun in his waistband. During the process, Acosta shot himself, severing a major artery in his groin. He then hobbled out of the store, dropping the money, and fled on a motorcycle.

As it turned out, the customer picked up the money dropped by the thief and returned it to the cashier. The entire ordeal was caught on camera.

According to Buzz.ie, Acosta “only made it two blocks before collapsing and was found lying in a pool of his own blood by police” and died two hours later.

“A police source told Argentinian newspaper La Gaceta that the suspect had been on a crime spree and was on his third robbery of the day.

“The man had attacked a woman nearby and robbed another drug store in the area before making his fatal error.”

It’s definitely unfortunate that the event led to the robber's death, but at least the only person killed was the one committing a crime. And now, Argentina has once less violent offender troubling her streets.
