It helped him get past a very crowded GOP field and eventually get to the White House.

White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer confirmed that Donald Trump will continue to use this method while president. He will reach out to people directly to counter the anti-Trump media spin that he deals with on a daily basis.
“I think that his use of social media in particular … is gonna be something that’s never been seen before,” Spicer told Rhode Island news station WPRI in an interview published Monday. “He has this direct pipeline in the American people, where he can talk back and forth…I mean, he does communicate in a much bigger way than there’s ever been before, and I think that’s gonna be just a really exciting part of the job.”
Combating media bias isn't the only thing that Donald Trump can do when he reaches out to his 39 million followers. A simple tweet can produce thousands of phone calls to districts. It will be an incredibly powerful weapon to help push his agenda.
