Senator Ted Cruz introduces a bill that will fund the wall. The best part of it is that Mexico will pay for it. Cruz really outdid himself here.
In Ted Cruz's bill he is calling for the $14 billion seized from Mexican drug lord Joaquin “El Chapo” Guzman to be used to build the Trump border wall between Mexico and the United States.
“Fourteen billion dollars will go a long way toward building a wall that will keep Americans safe and hinder the illegal flow of drugs, weapons, and individuals across our southern border,” Senator Cruz stated, according to a statement from the senator's office, obtained by Breitbart. “Ensuring the safety and security of Texans is one of my top priorities.”

Cruz explains that using the seized assets from not only El Chapo but other cartel members can “offset the wall’s cost and make meaningful progress toward achieving President Trump’s stated border security objectives.”
On Tuesday Senator Ted Cruz introduced the Ensuring Lawful Collection of Hidden Assets to Provide Order (EL CHAPO) Act. “The U.S. Government is currently seeking the criminal forfeiture of more than $14 billion in drug proceeds and illicit profits from El Chapo, the former leader of the Sinaloa drug cartel who was recently extradited to the U.S. to face criminal prosecution for numerous alleged drug-related crimes, including conspiracy to commit murder and money laundering,” Cruz explained.
In January the Mexican government extradited El Chapo. After several months of court battles in Mexico and several escapes from prison by Guzman, he was moved to an American prison. An agreement with Mexico was made and part of it was that El Chapo will not face the death penalty in the United States for his crimes.
Murder charges were filed against Chapman related to the killings of two relatives and a U.S. citizen.
