On Tuesday President Trump fired FBI Director James Comey. This was in large part due to the way he handled the Hillary Clinton email investigation along with many other issues. Who will replace him? The Internet is on fire with Trey Gowdy being pushed to replace Comey. What do you think?

Many people on the right were ecstatic about Comey being dumped. Especially since he let Hillary Clinton slide on her email scandal last summer.

Meanwhile, the Democrats were very angry about Comey being dumped. Remember, the left was calling for Comey's ouster many times as recently as November. They even blamed him for Hillary's loss in the election. Suddenly they are back in the corner of Comey after Trump fired him. It seems they are just following the policy of disagreeing with every single thing President Trump does, no matter what.

So who is going to replace James Comey as the FBI Director? Well, there is one name that keeps popping up, over and over. That would be Republican Rep. Trey Gowdy. In many conservative circles Gowdy is viewed as a rock star.

This isn't just wishful thinking by the conservatives. Many publications have Trey Gowdy as one of the top potential candidates for the position. For example, The Associated Press has listed Trey Gowdy as one of the top four potential replacements for James Comey as FBI Director. The other four include Republican New Jersey Governor Chris Christie, NYPD Police Commissioner Ray Kelly and Milwaukee Country Sheriff David Clarke. Most conservatives would agree that Gowdy should be at or near the top of that list.
