The left likes to pretend they deeply care about immigrants. Now President Trump proves Democrats don't care about Dreamers.
Many theorized that President Trump's immigration proposal was very generous. He offered citizenship to 1.8 million illegal immigrants along with another 4 million through chain migration. Why would Trump go against his base to do this? He wanted to expose just how unreasonable the Democrats are even with the generosity of his immigration proposal.
Trump tweeted:
I have offered DACA a wonderful deal, including a doubling in the number of recipients & a twelve year pathway to citizenship, for two reasons: (1) Because the Republicans want to fix a long time terrible problem. (2) To show that Democrats do not want to solve DACA, only use it!

Trump was right again. The Democrats are attacking his plan for immigration despite it legalizing 250% more illegal immigrants than the executive amnesty President Obama did. The left is calling this proposal "racist."
Per Daily Wire:
House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) led the charge: “the plan is a campaign to make America white again.” Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) said something similar: Trump was using his plan “as a tool to tear apart our legal immigration system and adopt the wish-list by anti-immigration hardliners."
You have to be out of your mind to believe this. You can disagree with Trump’s immigration priorities. You can think he’s asking for too much, or that he’s asking for too little. But to suggest that allowing in millions of illegal immigrants and millions more legal immigrants is somehow a reflection of underlying racist is pure demagoguery.
But that’s the only card the Democrats have left to play. Because the sad truth is that the Democrats aren’t interested in making a deal for the DREAMers. They want to leave them languishing in limbo in order to pretend that they are allies. They don’t want any deal that will cut off illegal immigration or lower legal immigration, even if it means protecting DREAMers. That’s what Trump just proved. And that’s what Democrats just helped him prove.
The left is motivated by their narrative that "Trump is racist" more than they are helping the Dreamers. Why wouldn't they take this offer and give the people they allegedly care about a path to citizenship? Because then they'd be agreeing to something Trump proposed.
