Last summer there was a very suspicious murder of Democratic staffer Seth Rich. Many people speculated it was a not what the police report stated. Many people questioned how a robbery attempt would result in him not losing his cell phone, wallet or keys. The murder happened in the early morning hours in the Bloomingdale neighborhood of Washington DC. Finally, an investigation with reasonable results. These Seth Rich investigation results say that Seth was murdered, which makes a lot more sense.
Julian Assange suggested that Rich was handing over DNC secrets to him and this was what resulted in his murder. He offered a reward for information about the Seth Rich murder.
A group of George Washington University students stepped up and have given credence to the theories that were once tabbed as "fake news." According to their investigation this was not a "robbery gone bad" or even a random homicide.
Seth Rich Investigation Results
The investigation was organized and funded by Jack Burkman, a Republican lobbyist. It is a very well-researched report. It makes six shocking claims:
- Seth’s death does not appear to be a random homicide
- Seth’s death does not appear to be a robbery gone bad
- Seth death was more likely committed by a hired killer or serial murderer
- There may be additional video surveillance of the crime and crime scene
- The resolution of prosecuting the individual(s) responsible appears to be hindered both actively and passively
- Seth’s killer most likely remains free within the community
“The person folks [should be] looking for and considering isn’t a robber who kills, but really is a killer, and maybe a killer that doesn’t rob,” Kevin Doherty, a recent George Washington University graduate and one of the volunteers with the Profiling Project told Newsweek. “The fact that this person has gotten away with it shows a level of proficiency.”
While this is sure to fuel the flames of conspiracy theorists, the report states that they are likely unfounded.
“A professional killer, whose sole job would have been to terminate Seth, did not accomplish their mission prior to escaping,” they write. “If this were a professional hit person, they failed,” says Doherty, the team member. “Nothing we’ve seen supports [the theory of] an assassin.”
Unfortunately this will not being much comfort to the Rich family. Still, this is the complete opposite of what the Metro Police claimed with their report.
Though this does bring a wealth of information to the case, the question remains - who killed Seth Rich?
