Sen. Rand Paul has held strong that Obamacare needs to be not just repealed, but replaced as well. Here is a recap of the Rand Paul Obamacare Replacement Plan.

Rand Paul Obamacare Replacement Plan

  • A tax credit of up to $5,000 per individual that could be used as part of a Health Savings Account
  • Eliminates minimum standards that health insurance companies had to meet under Obamacare, which would open the door for more affordable, yet less comprehensive plans
  • Would allow insurance companies to sell plans across state lines
  • A two-year window for those with pre-existing conditions to get healthcare, after which those with such conditions could still get coverage in group plans

Also, Rand Paul had this to say:

“There is no excuse for waiting to craft an alternative until after we repeal Obamacare, and the Obamacare Replacement Act charts a new path forward that will insure the most people possible at the lowest price.”

“Getting government out of the American people’s way and putting them back in charge of their own health care decisions will deliver a strong, efficient system that doesn’t force them to empty out their pockets to cover their medical bills,” Paul continued.

Sen. Rand Paul made sure to note that Speaker of the House Paul Ryan and President Trump were both very supportive of this plan.
