As you may have heard, Colin Kaepernick is still a free agent. There has been minimal interest in the quarterback. In the not too distant history he was leading the 49ers deep into the playoffs every year. Jim Harbaugh left the 49ers for the University of Michigan and he has not done much since. Then he decided to "make a stand" by kneeling during the national anthem before the start of games. During President Trump's rally in Louisville he decided to comment on the issue. Watch the video where President Trump trolls Colin Kapernick.

President Trump Trolls Colin Kaepernick

Here is more from NBC Sports:

As free-agent quarterback Colin Kaepernick continues to wait for the phone to ring, his ears may have been burning.

Speaking at a rally in Louisville on Monday night, President Donald Trump took a shot at Kaepernick, who became a polarizing figure last year for not standing for the National Anthem.

“And you know, your San Francisco quarterback,” Trump said, via TMZ. “I’m sure nobody ever heard of him. I’m just reporting the news. There was an article today — I love to report the news and then they said I made a mistake, right? I said, ‘No, the people reporting the news made a mistake if it’s wrong.’ But there was an article today, it was reported that NFL owners don’t want to pick him up because they don’t want to get a nasty tweet from Donald Trump. Do you believe that? I just saw that. I just saw that. I said if I remember that one I’m gonna report it to the people of the Kentucky. Because they like it when people actually stand for the American flag.”

The report President Trump refers to emerged Friday, via Mike Freeman of Bleacher Report. Quoting an unnamed AFC General Manager, Freeman explained Kaepernick’s ongoing unemployment by pointing out that “some teams . . . think there might be protests or [President Donald] Trump will tweet about the team.”

NFL teams want nothing to do with Kaepernick

As long as no one signs him, Kaepernick won't have to worry about a President Trump backlash. According to a report by The Grio, NFL teams don't want anything to do with this guy.

Unfortunately for Colin Kaepernick his life as a free agent might be a little on the long side. Even though many teams are in need of a good quarterback, Kaepernick has drawn little interest as of late.

According to one report, the reasons could be that over two thirds of the NFL team execs “genuinely hate” him.

An anonymous AFC general manager said that Kaepernick has alienated many in the NFL front offices by protesting too much during last season. This GM says that about 70 percent of the teams “genuinely hate him and can’t stand what he did. They want nothing to do with him. They won’t move on. They think showing no interest is a form of punishment.”

Kaepernick already said that he would kneel during the national anthem during the upcoming season. The only problem is, he has to be on a roster to be on the field during the anthem. As of right now, his chances for that happening are not looking good.
