Donald Trump Jr. took notice of this happening and took to Twitter to express his happiness for the success of his father, saying that “Christmas came early this week.”

Everyone knows that this was the campaign promise of all campaign promises for President Trump. “Build the wall” was a staple of his campaign and he is finally delivering on it.

Per Daily Mail:

Acting Pentagon chief Patrick Shanahan said Monday he had authorized $1billion to build part of the wall sought by President Trump along the U.S.-Mexico border – prompting Donald Trump Jr to exclaim that ‘Christmas has come early’.

The Department of Homeland Security asked the Pentagon to build 57 miles of 18ft fencing, build and improve roads, and install lighting to support Trump’s emergency declaration as concerns the border.

Shanahan ‘authorized the commander of the US Army Corps of Engineers to begin planning and executing up to $1billion in support to the Department of Homeland Security and Customs and Border Patrol,’ a Pentagon statement read.

President Trump has been battling Congress to get funding for the border wall. He became so frustrated with the situation that last month he declared a national emergency so he could bypass lawmakers and create $8 billion in funding.
