While in a courtroom a police officer pulled out a tube of K-Y Jelly and and told the gunman who tried to kill him, "You'll need a lot of this in prison!"
The officer pulled Kevin Rojas, 21, over for a routine traffic stop when he opened fire on the officer. Rojas was sentenced Wednesday after the jury convicted him on charges of attempted first-degree murder, attempted manslaughter, two counts of aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer, grand theft auto and fleeing.
The officer told the court: 'I will take those bullets instead of a fellow officer and an innocent bystander.
'When I brought the fight back to you, you ran like a coward.
'Obviously that day changed my life, and it will never be the same.'
Rojas was described as "smug" in court.
During the hearing, the officer wanted to send a message to the gunman. So he pulled out a tube of K-Y and told the young convict, "You are going to need a lot of this."

Rojas was found guilty by a jury in October on charges of attempted first-degree murder, attempted manslaughter, two counts of aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer, grand theft auto and fleeing.
Daniel sentenced him Wednesday to the maximum prison sentence for each of the crimes: life plus three 15-year sentences and two five-year sentences for the lesser charges.
Daniel told Rojas he struggled with the implication of what happened on that day nearly two years ago. He said he couldn’t comprehend how Rojas could arrive at the decision to begin firing with an intent to kill.
As Daniel sentenced the now 21-year-old to a lifetime behind bars he said, “I’m pretty sure Mr. Rojas doesn’t understand what the rest of his life means.”
Rojas’s family fled the courtroom in tears.
It's good to see justice was served and this young criminal is behind bars. Also it is great this officer was able to survive the gunfire and live to tell about it.
