17 players on the New England Patriots knelt during the national anthem. This didn't sit well with their fans. Patriots fans boo their team for kneeling during the anthem.

The boos came in strong during the entire national anthem. 60,000 fans at Gilette Stadium were fed up with these entitled athletes refusing to respect their country and its servicemen and servicewomen.

Per Daily Wire:

Players across the NFL protested Sunday, after President Donald Trump, speaking at a rally Friday, encouraged people in Alabama to leave the game if players showed disrespect toward the U.S. flag and national anthem.

“... If you see it, even if it's one player, leave the stadium, I guarantee things will stop,” Trump said. “Things will stop. Just pick up and leave. Pick up and leave. Not the same game anymore anyway.”

Later in his speech, Trump ignited further controversy, saying that he wished NFL owners would take a more aggressive response to athletes who protest the Star Spangled Banner.

“Wouldn't you love to see one of these NFL owners, when somebody disrespects our flag, to say, ‘Get that son of a bitch off the field right now,'” Trump exclaimed. “'Out. He's fired. He's fired!’”

The Patriots’ players who protested the national anthem on Sunday included James White, Stephon Gilmore, Brandin Cooks, Lawrence Guy, Alan Branch, Malcom Brown, Malcolm Butler, Brandon Bolden, Devin McCourty, Trey Flowers, Deatrich Wise, Jonathan Jones, Elandon Roberts, Duron Harmon, Adam Butler, Jordan Richards, Johnson Bademosi.

It looks like more and more players in the NFL are getting in on making a mockery of the "Star Spangled Banner." The thing is fans are tuning out the NFL in record numbers. It will be very interesting to see what the numbers look like for the TV viewership for week 3.
