Oregonians strongly oppose a new law that allows residents in rural counties to pump their own gas. Their reactions are absolutely hilarious.

The law took effect on Monday. It was signed back in June. If a county has less than 40,000 residents then the residents are able to pump their own gas. In the counties with more than 40,000 residents, drivers will still be required to use an attendant to pump their gas for them.

A CBS affiliate in Medford, Oregon asked their followers if they think “Oregon should allow self-serve gas stations statewide.”

The responses to the question were incredibly hilarious and ridiculous. The commenters are freaking out at the thought of pumping their own gas.

I don't even know HOW to pump gas and I am 62, native Oregonian.....I say NO THANKS! I don't want to smell like gasoline!

I don't want to pump my own gas, hate the smell and having to get out in the Winter in a skirt, no way.

Then there were people who were ripping the Oregonians for the hilarious overreaction.

One time, my dad came to Oregon and pumped his own gas. The street immediately lit on fire and he caused massive recession countrywide because he took away 20 billion jobs by pumping his own gas. I was in the back seat when brother was nabbed through the locked door by a transient creeper who raised him to be his human ottoman. My dad then tried wiping his windshield but the stuff he used turned out to be sulfuric acid. The car exploded with me in it and I died.

Dear Oregon, In WV, we can order food while we pump our gas! With some practice and perseverance, you too, can achieve the dream!!

There are only two states in the country that ban self-service at gas stations: Oregon and New Jersey.
