There is progress being made every single day in the attempt to find either very effective and well-documented treatment or even a complete cure for the coronavirus.
Until this happens, or until the virus just vanishes, life, as it was just months ago, will not happen again.
Thankfully, we've already seen some promising results and success with treating the virus with drugs such as hydroxychloroquine and remdesivir. There have also been alternate treatments such as acetazolamide and they say that even just lying on your stomach helps remove some of the pressure from your lungs which helps you breathe.
Another study recently conducted revealed that there may be something much more simple that is effective in destroying the virus very quickly, that thing is pure and simple sunlight.
Sunlight, high temperature, and high humidity conditions are all possible killers of the virus. If this is the case, summer in the south should be a piece of cake because that's all that we get in down here.
Preliminary results from government lab experiments show that the coronavirus does not survive long in high temperatures and high humidity, and is quickly destroyed by sunlight, providing evidence from controlled tests of what scientists believed — but had not yet proved — to be true.
A briefing on the preliminary results, marked for official use only and obtained by Yahoo News, offers hope that summertime may offer conditions less hospitable for the virus, though experts caution it will by no means eliminate, or even necessarily decrease, new cases of COVID-19, the disease caused by the coronavirus. The results, however, do add an important piece of knowledge that the White House’s science advisers have been seeking as they scramble to respond to the spreading pandemic.
The study found that the risk of “transmission from surfaces outdoors is lower during daylight” and under higher temperature and humidity conditions. “Sunlight destroys the virus quickly,” reads the briefing.
However, health experts are still saying that the coronavirus will remain as a pandemic throughout the summer. That means that the transmission rate of the virus will be between 0.9 and 1.2 people contracting the virus for every person who has the virus already.
I think if people just continue to practice property hygiene, and not act like idiots, even with a full release of our lockdown we can recover as a nation.
