It's unfathomable how far people in our country have fallen from morality. It's truly disheartening.

Not only have they fallen morally, but along with that fall, they seem to have lost their sense of rationale as well.

Here is a basic self-evident fact: saying that all white people are racist simply because they are white is racist. Saying that other people aren't racist because of their skin color is also just as equally racist.

Stan Van Gundy, coach of the NBA's New Orleans Pelicans, recently was on ESPN's "The Undefeated" and made some comments that were deemed to be controversial by many.

Van Gundy stated that whites are the ones who are racist and then went on to say that he was a poster boy for white privilege. He then went on to say that he truly feels as though white people are racist and, as a result, need to be the ones to change.

He also made sure to note that he did feel as though the voices of black people should be promoted, but that many simply push this to the side rather than actually doing something about it.

“We’re the ones that are racist,” said Van Gundy. “It’s a white person’s problem that affects people of color, and so we’re the ones who have to change. … Certainly you want to promote Black voices, right? But if they’re the only ones speaking out, a lot of people just push it aside. There needs to be people saying, ‘No, wait a minute. This is wrong, and we need to correct these things.’”

“I’m a poster boy for white privilege,” he continued. “I’ve led a privileged life, so I only know about these issues, and these problems, and these inequities from people I’ve been associated with, work with, know, care about. I don’t carry the issue. But just because something doesn’t happen to you, if it’s happening to people you know, if it’s happening to people you care about, you care about the issue.”

It is very apparent that he rightly feels as though changes need to be made in regards to this situation and that corrections would benefit society as a whole.

Earlier in the year, Van Gundy released an attack on America as a direct response to an article that was attacking the NBA. He then went on to deny the fact that he made an attack against the American people.
