The "Green New Deal" was brought up for a vote in the Senate. This is a bill that was co-sponsored by Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Sen. Markey. Instead of voting yea or nay, most Democrats only voted "present."

Remember, the world is going to end in 12 years if this bill was not passed. Even in the face of the world ending, her fellow Democrats could only muster a "present" vote.

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell brought this issue to a vote. The Democrats criticized him for bringing their own resolution to a vote. In a tweet, McConnell showed that the left's rhetoric is completely different from how they actually vote.

Boom.

Cocaine Mitch just took the Democratic Party down in a savage manner.

How did Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez handle this? By dishing out blame, of course. She said McConnell doesn't want to save the planet and think "we can all drink oil in 30 years."

“What McConnell’s doing is that he’s trying to rush this bill to the floor without a hearing... without working through committee -- because he doesn’t want to save our planet. Because he thinks we can drink oil in 30 years when all our water is poisoned,” Ocasio-Cortez reportedly said.

After being accused of manipulating the vote to divide Democrats on Monday, McConnell responded with a tweet.
