Each state has handled the coronavirus differently and the primary reason is because of the governor in charge.
In the more liberal states, we've seen stricter regulations and more deaths overall compared to states with conservative governors.
There have been a few governors that have been among the most tyrannical that we've ever seen and there is no denying that Governor of Michigan Gretchen Whitmer has been one of the worst when it comes to the lockdowns.
Now, the Supreme Court of Michigan has not only ruled against her lockdowns, but they ruled against her petition to extend the orders through the end of the month as well.
On Oct. 2, the state Supreme Court ruled that the governor did not have authority under either the 1976 Emergency Management Act (EMA) and the 1945 Emergency Powers of the Governor Act (EPGA) to extend an emergency order indefinitely without the support of the legislature.
The court decided in a 6-1 ruling to deny Whitmer’s request to allow her orders to stay in place until Oct. 30. The administration argued that it needed the extra time to come up with contingency plans and to work with the legislature. The majority decision ruled that the court did not have the authority to grant the request.
“Executive orders issued under that act are of no continuing legal effect,” the court said, according to the Detroit Free Press. “This order is effective upon entry.”
Lee Chatfield, who is Speaker of the House for the Michigan House of Representatives shared his excitement about the Supreme Court decision,
"Another big win at the Supreme Court today! The law is the law, and partisan politics can’t change that. The people will finally have their voices heard in this process. The House is in again tomorrow, and I hope the Governor is ready to cooperate. It’s time to work together!"
Given the recent announcement from the World Health Organization, I'd love to hear how these tyrannical governors actually justify their positions to keep their economies closed up.
Isn't it the liberals that jump on conservatives in accusing them that they deny science? Well, not science is against their lockdowns so what are they going to do now?
