Michelle Obama is co-chair for the group “When We All Vote,” and is going to host a rally at the University of Detroit, the tickets are free, but it is not open to the general public.
Former first lady Michelle Obama will be in Detroit later this month to host a rally aimed at increasing voter participation in the area months ahead of the 2020 presidential election.
When We All Vote, a nonpartisan group that works to increase voter participation across the country, announced Wednesday that the former first lady would be visiting the city to headline the event on March 27 at the University of Detroit Mercy.
According to the announcement, the event is free and will be open to local college and high school students, as well as teachers, group volunteers, staff and partners. The group said some will also be able to have the chance to meet Obama at the rally via a contest being held by the nonprofit.
Obama is one of a number of celebrity co-chairs — which include Lin-Manuel Miranda, Janelle Monae, Chris Paul, Faith Hill and Tim McGraw — who been working with When We All Vote, which she launched in 2018, to help promote voter participation in elections at all levels.
Many are beginning to wonder if Michelle Obama is trying to get her name out there in case there is a brokered convention. That way maybe the super delegates would choose her as the nominee.
This is actually something that Tucker Carlson posited last year.
“If you’re wondering who the Democratic nominee will be, don’t bet against Michelle Obama. Last week, the former first lady issued a statement claiming she has no interest in being president, but there are signs that’s not true.”

Obama's presidential memoir was also supposed to come out this year. Now, its release has been delayed until the middle of the Democratic primaries. In other words, at exactly the moment when Democrats will be thinking deeply about how to beat Trump, America will be talking about the Obamas. Coincidence? Maybe."

The rally is open to the organization’s volunteers and partners, educators, college students, and high school students who are eligible to vote.
