Over the weekend, there were forty-seven people shot, four fatally, in a US city. However, you will not see mass media coverage on it. Can you guess why?
It doesn't fit the rhetoric.
Democrat-controlled Chicago is notorious for shootings and murders. It also has some of the strictest gun control laws in the United States. Does that tell you anything? Gun control does not work.
The media will blow up mass shootings and politicians will beat the dead horse of banning guns until you can't even recognize it is a horse. However, they seem to turn a blind eye to places like Chicago, where Democrats have gotten their way with gun control. Only, their way of gun control only means that the good guys don't have guns, but the bad guys do.
According to the Chicago Sun-Times report, the four fatalities this past weekend included two teenagers. One boy was sitting in a car when he was murdered, and another was walking through the park.
On August 11, 2019, Breitbart News reported that six were wounded Sunday morning when a gunman opened fire in Garfield Park. CBS Chicago reported the gunman opened fire from inside “a light-colored sedan” about 2:47 a.m. The would-be victims “were standing in a large group,” and five women and one man were wounded.
Numbers like this are not uncommon when it comes to shootings in Chicago. During the first weekend of August, there were fifty-three people shot and seven of those were fatal. During the last weekend of July, there were forty-eight shootings reported and nine of those were fatal. See a pattern here?
Liberals have an idea of gun control that they will push until they are able to take everyone's guns. I don't know about you, but I won't ever be giving up mine. I have always said that the day guns become outlawed will be the day I become an outlaw.
