Grace Community Church in Sun Valley, California (part of Los Angeles County) is having terrible battles against the state of California as well as Los Angeles County.
First, the state and county told Grace Community Church, which is led by Pastor John MacArthur, that because of the virus and mandates, they could not worship in their church building.
Pastor MacArthur defied this order and continued to worship, leading to at least one lawsuit, but perhaps more.
In the end, the judge ruled in favor of GCC to allow worship as long as they wear masks and practice appropriate social distancing.
Remember that they have a constitutional right to assemble to worship and violating that right is tyrannical.
Now, the county just initiated further actions to prevent worship in California by breaking a 45 year contract that they've held with the church. They told the church that they could no longer use the rented parking space and that they had 30 days to vacate the premises.
“Los Angeles County is retaliating against Grace Community Church for simply exercising their constitutionally protected right to hold church and challenging an unreasonable, unlawful health order,” Thomas More Society special counsel Jenna Ellis said in a statement to the Todd Starnes Show.
“In America, we have a judicial system to ensure that the executive branch does not abuse its power, and Grace Community Church has every right to be heard without fear of reprisal,” she said. “The Democrats’ message to Americans is clear–if you don’t bow to every whim of tyranny, the government will come after you.”
There’s no word on where church members will be able to park once they are evicted by the county.
“The Church has peacefully held this lease for 45 years and the only reason the County is attempting eviction is because John MacArthur stood up to their unconstitutional power grab,” Ellis said. “This is harassment, abusive, and unconscionable.”
