Liberal MSNBC host Joe Scarborough thought it would be a good idea to lecture Ted Cruz on the Constitution. Bad idea. This backfired big time as Cruz schooled him.

Per Daily Wire:

Appearing on MSNBC's "Morning Joe," Cruz answered questions on a number of "issues ranging from gun rights to Brooklyn barbecue," the WFB reported. Cruz and Scarborough got into a heated discussion over the 2008 Supreme Court ruling in Heller v. District of Columbia which protects American's rights to own firearms.

Things got especially heated when Scarborough said, “You know every American doesn’t have a constitutional Second Amendment right to carry an AR-15. Yes or no?”

After Cruz responded to Scarborough's baseless claims, Scarborough got nasty with him, saying, “Senator, there are a lot of people, lawyers right now, who are rolling their eyes at what you’re saying.”

Cruz put Scarborough in his place, firing back, “My career was litigating before the Supreme Court. I recognize this is not what you do.”

Not appreciating the truth, Scarborough responded, “I don’t need you to lecture me on what the Supreme Court does and what it doesn’t do. You can talk down to me all you want to.”

Scarborough continued making factually inaccurate statements, claiming, “Even a dumb country lawyer like me understands that an AR-15 today is not recognized as a constitutional right of Americans under the Second Amendment.”

Bad idea, Joe. Do not test Ted Cruz when it comes to the Constitution. Especially the 2nd Amendment.
