It has been estimated that President Trump's border wall will cost somewhere between $20 and $30 billion. It could end up higher as government costs usually do, but that's a solid estimate.

Sure, that seems like a lot of money, but as much as spent in modern American government it's actually a modest number.

Why is it so hard to get funding for a much needed wall?

Democrat Chuck Schumer claims: “Our view on the wall as something that is ineffectual and expensive has not changed."

Don't forget that back in 2006 Schumer supported the wall when it was on the Democrat agenda. Normally the Dems count $20 billion of taxpayer money as pocket change. That is, until someone across the aisle is the one who wants to spend.

No fear, we have someone to put it all in perspective for us. In a viral tweet, James Woods how absurd it is that this price is way too high for the Democrats, yet an insane number put in place by Obama didn't bother them at all.

Now, it’s worth pointing out here that the $150 billion that Woods is talking about is actually Iranian assets frozen by sanctions that were unfrozen by the Obama administration in the Iran deal.

Under current U.S. law, there’s no particular way to expropriate those frozen funds except in wartime. That said, they didn’t necessarily need to be given back to the Iranians.

There’s no court that the United States recognizes as having authority over the president’s ability to freeze foreign funds — either within America or internationally. And, while the government couldn’t use the money, necessarily, the money could have been saved for the Iranian people if and when the mullahs in Tehran are toppled.

As usually, Woods does a great job of putting in perspective just how loony the left is. Remember, "Death to America" has pretty much became the battle cry in Iran and Obama was able to free $150 billion for them.
