Tucker Carlson of Fox News invited illegal immigrant lawyer Cesar Vargas on his show Monday. As you might expect this went poorly for Vargas.
The first question Carlson opened up with was:
"Tucker Carlson of Fox News invited illegal immigrant lawyer Cesar Vargas on his show Monday. As you might expect this went poorly for Vargas."
Vargas fired back:
“Well I would just say that California has a surplus of more than $10 billion into their state economy. Why? Because many factors. But, because it‘s a welcoming state…”
Carlson increased the pressure:
“Wait a second. Wait a second. California’s gotten poorer–one in five Californians is poor. That was not the case when I grew up in California. It has the most immigration. So if immigration always makes us more prosperous, why is the opposite happening in California? It’s a very simple question.”
The exchanged continued back and forth for a while, with Tucker finally dropping the hammer:
“How about this? Why don’t we stop with the magical thinking and get real? Because things are changing really fast in this country, and we care about our country, we want it to be the best it can be. And the point is not to make other countries happy, it’s to protect our people. So, I hope you’ll give us a pass on trying to think that through in a rational way.”
Watch the video:
Tucker Carlson does a great job of countering the illegal immigrant lawyer. He rebuts all of Vargas' claims and does a fine job of using facts to do so.
Twitter responded to the broadcast:
Since #CesarVargas is an illegal immigrant, maybe he's also an attorney without a license. Can we call him an undocumented attorney? If he passed the bar, without citizenship, he possibly passed it unlawfully. #Tucker

Many things to consider when it comes to the issue. Cesar Vargas was exposed in many ways by the people on Twitter.
