It's very well known that sometimes people have too much to drink on St. Patrick's Day. On this St. Patrick's Day, the GOP took to Twitter to highlight a huge mistake made by 26-year-old Beto O'Rourke's DWI mugshot from 1998. Remember, O'Rourke is a known Irishman, as much as he wants us to forget that. Just so everyone doesn't forget, the GOP photoshopped a green leprechaun hat onto his head.

It's been said that if we don't learn from our mistakes we are doomed to repeat them, or something along those lines. That's all the GOP is doing, right? Well the GOP sparked outrage with this tweet. It was labeled as "racist and anti-Irish." Decide for yourself.

"On this St. Paddy's Day, a special message from noted Irishman Robert Francis O'Rourke," GOP tweeted.

Tweet of 26-year-old Beto O'Rourke's DWI Mugshot

Though the GOP did use humor in their tweet, they did drive home an important message at the bottom: Please drink responsibly.

The tweet angered many on the left, claiming the GOP was promoting a racist stereotype about the Irish. Let's bet honest if those same people wouldn't have seen this tweet, they would have found something else to be angry about.

It's known that it's easy to trigger the left, but this got especially heated in the responses. Is Beto their new chosen one? The way they responded to a reference to his past mistakes, it sure seems like it.
