Was your day long? Don't worry, at least you're still probably smarter than House Speaker Nancy Pelosi! Let's face it, the woman's lights are on but there's no one home!
GOP Senator John Kennedy went after Pelosi while speaking at a Trump rally in Louisiana on Wednesday. He said that it "must suck" to be as "dumb" as her, and I don't think any of us can disagree with that!
“In three short years, President Trump has doubled the growth in the greatest economy in all of human history. And do you know what our Democratic friends have done for him?” Kennedy said, “Speaker Nancy Pelosi is trying to impeach him.”
"I don’t mean any disrespect, but it must suck to be that dumb," he continued.
The comments from Kennedy came as the House Democrats move forward with a fast-moving impeachment inquiry into Trump and his dealings with Ukraine. The inquiry, which was launched in late September, centers around a whistleblower complaint that accuses Trump of pushing Ukraine to investigate former Vice President Joe Biden, who is running for president, and his son Hunter Biden over unfounded allegations of corruption.
Pelosi continues to defend the impeachment inquiry, and even stated that it's not about the president's personality or policies. She claims it's strictly about "defending our democracy."
"That's for the election. This is about the Constitution. This is about defending our democracy," Pelosi stated.
When reporters asked Pelosi for comment on Kennedy's remarks, her office simply referred back to the comments made by Senator Sherrod Brown.
"He plays to the crowd. I guess when you stand next to Donald Trump and you have that kind of crowd reaction, you play to it. I’m disappointed. For him to say that about Nancy Pelosi is so off the mark," Brown said.
Of course liberal commentators are having a hayday on Twitter with this:
"I'm disappointed because I like John, and for him to say that about Nancy Pelosi is so off the mark."
