Earlier this week a mentally disabled Trump supporter was beaten in Chicago on a Facebook Live broadcast. Since then, GoFundMe donations have exceeded $100,000 as of Saturday night. This is a legitimate account. The person who set it up has been working closely with the victim's family.
1/9/2017 Update at 1:26 PM EST: The account has reached $143,000!
The four people who beat the man and recorded it on Facebook Live have all been charged with kidnapping, battery and hate crimes. They tied the victim up for 4 to 5 hours, according to authorities. They put a sock in his mouth and sealed it with duck tape. Bail has been denied for all four suspects.
