Politico has reported that former president George H W Bush is turning his back on the Republican party and voting for Hillary Clinton.
The announcement was made by Kathleen Hartington Kennedy Townsend. Also, she is the former Maryland lieutenant governor and also the daughter of the late Robert F Kennedy. She made the announcement by posting a photo on Facebook with this caption: “THE PRESIDENT TOLD ME HE’S VOTING FOR HILLARY!!” She also confirmed this in a phone interview.
Bush spokesman Jim McGrath did not confirm nor deny, but he did release this statement:
“The vote President Bush will cast as a private citizen in some 50 days will be just that: a private vote cast in some 50 days. He is not commenting on the presidential race in the interim.”
