Not all of Hollywood is the same. There are a few exceptions. Gary Sinise puts liberal Hollywood on blast and lamented the fact that so many of his Hollywood peers have made honoring the military something they politicize.

Through The Gary Sinise Foundation, Sinise has honored thousands of war veterans. He also made it clear that he does not see this as a partisan matter.

“How have our defenders become a political issue? They defend us all. They are us all,” Sinise said. “There are Democrats who serve our country, there are Republicans who serve our country.”

Sinise is moved by the fact that Americans aren't doing more to help the 20.4 million veterans and 1.3 million active duty members. He also acknowledged that while many people don't have the time or money to donate to his cause, they can still do things to show their appreciation and love to the veterans.

“I know that not everybody can get on an airplane and go over to a hospital in Germany or travel to war zones or do all the things that I’m doing,” Sinise said. “[But] if everybody in every neighborhood, in every community, in every city, in every town, and in every state took a little bit of responsibility to reach out to the military families and say, ‘What do you need? What can I do to help you?’, the problems that veterans have [would be] minimized.”

During World War II things were very different. Hollywood united and helped to our the veterans and active duty members of the military. Things have changed in the decades that have passed since then. Instead of honoring the military, Hollywood now spends most of their time bashing President Donald Trump.

In the past Gary Sinise sent kids who lost their parents in combat to Disney. How incredible of a gesture is that?

It's a great change of pace to see a Hollywood star like Gary Sinise be all in on helping veterans. Perhaps some will follow his lead.
