Former candidate for Florida governor, Andrew Gillum made an announcement that he is entering into rehab to deal with his drug problem and his problem with male escorts.
Gillum, as you may know, is a Democrat as well as a CNN contributor.
The timing is very odd as he announced this just 48 hours after it was learned that there was bodycam footage to be released of his participation in a meth-fueled orgy.
Gillum issued this statement regarding his decision:
"After conversation with my family and deep reflection, I have made the decision to seek help, guidance and enter a rehabilitation facility at this time. This has been a wake-up call for me. Since my race for governor ended, I fell into a depression that has led to alcohol abuse. I witnessed my father suffer from alcoholism and I know the damaging effects it can have when untreated. I also know that alcoholism is often a symptom of deeper struggles. I am committed to doing the personal work to heal fully and show up in the world as a more complete person.”
"I now need to firmly focus on myself and my family. I will be stepping down from all public facing roles for the foreseeable future. I want to apologize to my family, friends and the people of Florida who have supported me and put their faith in me over the years. I ask that you respect my and my family’s privacy during this time. Thank you."
His admission to rehab is a reactionary move.
He knew that he was about to definitely be exposed so he's wanting to make it appear as though he's taking the high ground when in reality, he's just doing it because he got caught doing something illegal and he's trying to avoid jail time as well as any charges.

Trump Closes Canada Border to 'Non-essential Traffic'
On Wednesday, President Trump announced that the border between the United States and Canada is closed to non-essential travel and both countries attempt to stop the spread of the coronavirus.
"We will be, by mutual consent, temporarily closing our Northern Border with Canada to non-essential traffic. Trade will not be affected. Details to follow!" Trump tweeted.
