Officer Rasheen McClain was killed in the line of duty on Wednesday evening after responding to a report of a home invasion which was actually a domestic incident.
A 10-year-old Florida boy posted an incredible video tribute to Facebook on Thursday. Zechariah Cartledge started the non-profit organization Running 4 Heroes. In the video, he stands on his schools track with a Thin Blue Line Flag.
“As many of you know, I’m dedicating my running to all of the officers who passed away in 2018,” Cartledge said to begin the video. “But unfortunately, I’m going to run too for a 2019 officer. So tonight I’m running for Officer Rasheen McClain.”
During the video, he did seven laps around the track with adds up to a mile. There were three police cruisers following him and bagpipers playing.
According to the organization’s website he runes one mile for each and every first responder who dies in the line of duty.
“He wants to honor those who gave up their life so we may live in a better world,” the website states.
