With Michelle Obama, First Lady spending was a massive expense to the taxpayers. In 2011 it was $424,000 to fly her kids and mother with her to Africa.
She even went as far as listing her daughters as "senior staffers" just to justify the expenses for them.
It's pretty obvious that Michelle Obama wasn't cheap.
Michelle definitely made her time in the White House count. She had at least 16 assistants that ran taxpayers $1.24 million a year.
While the American economy crumbled and the people struggled, Barack and Michelle held extravagant parties.

According to a Fox News analysis of White House personnel reports, Melania Trump has significantly reduced the number of aides on the first lady’s office payroll in comparison to her predecessor, Michelle Obama.
During then-President Barack Obama’s first year in office, 16 people were listed working for Michelle Obama, earning a combined $1.24 million a year.
This year, just four people were listed working for Melania Trump as of June. Their salaries totaled $486,700.
Good job Melania. Every penny counts went slashing the massive budget that was left by the Obamas.
