There have been reports that have come out that a large portion of the people who are rioting are rich white people.
Honestly, I'm not sure how true that is. I do know that there have been some wealthier and upper-class people arrested, but I also believe that there are a lot of middle and lower-class people in the riots as well, because truth be told...have you looked at these people who have been arrested?
However, there is some credibility to this theory because one recent arrest was Loewy Malkovich...son of Hollywood actor John Malkovich.
Loewy Malkovich was apparently participating in protests in Portland, Oregon Friday night, and was among 27 arrested.
Portland has experienced over 100 consecutive nights of protest since the death of George Floyd in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Lending further credence to the claim of the protests being primarily comprised of wealthy white people, Oregon is the whitest major city in the U.S.
The protest on Friday was comprised of Black Lives Matter activists and Antifa members. It is unclear if Malkovich’s presence indicates being a part of Antifa, but as a result of his arrest, he is accused of interfering with a peace officer and disorderly conduct in the second degree.
The New York Post reports,
“John Malkovich’s son was arrested at a violent Black Lives Matter rally in Portland, Oregon, where marchers attacked cops trying to protect their union building amid chants of ‘burn it down,’ according to authorities.
“The actor’s Portland-based software engineer son Loewy Malkovich, 38, was listed as one of 27 people arrested Friday night — the 100th consecutive night of protests in the whitest major city in the US.”
The Post further added that the local District Attorney is not prosecuting a range of charges which include those of which Malkovich is accused. Apparently, though, some of the police officers making arrests have been federally deputized. If Malkovich was arrested by one of these, he could face federal charges.
The younger Malkovich’s politics apparently were not necessarily inherited from his famous father. The Daily Mail reports that John Malkovich, “previously voiced his support for the Iraq war and once said in support of the death penalty: ‘I would have no problem pushing the switch while having dinner.’”
There have been a number of other celebrity and well-known figures' children arrested and involved in these riots.
