ESPN has always had a liberal stance when it comes to politics. Well, they keep pushing further left. Now, ESPN anchor Linda Cohn admits ESPN is failing due to politics.
This week ESPN made massive staff reductions, getting rid of some prominent on-air personalities. Linda Cohn came forward and admitted that much of their struggle is a result of waxing political instead of staying in their lane and talking sports.
Cohn appeared on 77WABC's Bernie and Sid Show. She admitted that one of the reasons for the company's cutbacks is their programming's political nature. She said, “That is definitely a percentage of it. I don’t know how big a percentage, but if anyone wants to ignore that fact, they’re blind.”

Cohn agreed that the coverage of Caitlyn Jenner and Colin Kaepernick's stories has certainly had an impact on the network's nosedive. Jenner was chosen for the 2015 ESPY Arthur Ashe Award instead of Mount St. Joseph University's Lauren Hill, who battled cancer and died three months before the ceremony. Hill was honored by being placed on a box of Wheaties. Or they could have went with Noah Galloway who lost an arm and leg in the Iraq War.
Cohn continued, “You know, when you work for a big company, you have to follow in line, you have to pay the bills. But you just kind of look in the mirror and do what you think is right no matter what else is going on around you. And that’s what I always tried to do.”
It's pretty obvious that the far left agenda of ESPN has disconnected them with many of their viewers. People view sports as a form of entertainment, not where they go to learn about politics. At this point, ESPN has such a deep rooted connection to their liberal viewpoints, it wouldn't be easy to undo the damage that has been done.
