Donald Trump Shows He Can Handle A Rifle

Trump had a campaign stop in North Carolina. While there, Donald Trump shows he can handle a rifle. He showed he backs the 2nd Amendment for a reason. On top of that, he didn't even use it for a photo op. (Note: The photo above was not taken in NC)

According to this report, Trump picked up a rifle at a local shooting lodge in the swing state of NC. He did not allow any photos to be taken as he didn't want it to appear as blatant pandering.

Per Conservative Tribune:

“There was no photos done down there. That was kind of like a QT thing,” said Ken Shawyer, a retired assistant police chief of nearby Statesville who shot with Trump. “We were all kinda like … They didn’t want anybody taking photos or nothing. I don’t know what that’s about.”

However, other law enforcement officers confirmed that Trump could indeed hit a target, and hit it well.

“I’ve got to say,” Iredell County Sheriff Darren Campbell said of the experience, “this man can shoot.”

“He is obviously proficient. It showed,” Campbell added.

“He fired several shots,” Ron Wyatt, the mayor of nearby Troutman, said. “I saw two for-sure bull’s-eyes. At the distance we were, I couldn’t tell you there wasn’t more.”

As for Trump, he was uncharacteristically modest about his shooting achievements.

“We just went down the range and had a little shooting practice,” he told reporters after firing the M-4 rifle.

“The Second Amendment is on the ballot in November,” Trump told an NRA gathering in July, according to CNN. “The only way to save our Second Amendment is to vote for a person that you all know named Donald Trump.”
