Before this CNN video, this warning came up: "The following video contains graphic language. Viewer discretion is advised." This is a warning you see quite a bit, but not for a speech by the Chair of the Democratic National Party. This is like something from another universe. The DNC Chairman can't stop spouting off expletives. How desperate are they to win new people over?
Tom Perez took over this position in February. Since doing so he has been all over the country cussing up a storm. At almost every event he attends, he is using four letter words to describe Trump and the Republican Party.
In Vegas, Perez was on a stage with children directly behind him. That didn't stop him. Perez said that Trump "doesn't give a shit about health care." While in Portland, Maine Perez described Trump's new budget plan as "a shitty budget." In New Jersey he used choice words to describe the entire Republican Part when he said Republicans "don’t give a shit about people."
The DNC has sided with Perez. They have even started selling t-shirts that say "Democrats Give a Sh*t About People." The RNC has voiced displeasure about the approach they are taking, but they fired back, “Taking away health care from 24 million people is going low. Giving a shit about people is going high." Are you serious?
Democrats are following this nutjobs lead. Rep. Beto O'Rourke is a Texas Democrat planning to run against Ted Cruz in 2018. When describing Cruz he said he "sure as shit not serving" his constituents.
New York Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand has followed his lead and even raised the bar. During an interview with a hometown magazine she dropped the f-bomb more than once. "If we're not helping people, we should go the fuck home." The story included the use of "fucking" 2 times, "bullshit" 1 time, "pissed off" 1 time and another time she even used "they suck." She even threw in a "what the hell" which is much more tame, but still not something you expect from a senator.
Even CNN host John King thinks this is a ridiculous approach and no way to win over voters. "I think that's unnecessary. I think you can do it with manners. I really do. Passion's good. Manners good also."
Republican National Committee chairwoman Ronna Romney McDaniel has also questioned the four letter approach of the left.
“I think Democrats should be denouncing his behavior.... To say that Republicans don’t give a blank about people, that should not be rhetoric that the head of the Democrat party should be using,” McDaniel said while on Fox News.
Perhaps they are desperate to respond to President Trump's brash approach. Trump did use a few swear words to resonate with blue collar people during the campaign. The Democrats are desperate for an answer to Trump and it appears they are willing to try anything.
