barack obama dallas shooting

Friday morning, former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee was on "Fox & Friends." He pulled no punched when it came to Obama's response to the Dallas shooting. He used it as a platform for gun control even before the facts were known.

According to Politico, Obama called the attack “vicious, calculated and despicable,” but added that, “we also know that when people are armed with powerful weapons, unfortunately it makes it more deadly and more tragic, and in the days ahead we are going to have to consider those realities as well.”

Per Conservative Tribune:

“I think this is a time when real leaders bring people together, he doesn’t split them apart,” Huckabee said in his appearance on Fox News.

“He doesn’t need to inject the divisive arguments like gun control at a time of great grief for the nation,” Huckabee continued. “And he ought to do for us what Ronald Reagan did after the Challenger disaster. And that’s remind us of what we have in common, not what separates us. And that’s why I’m always so frustrated. Barack Obama has such great potential to be a leader.”

Huckabee points out that the focus should have been on the brave officers who risked it all for the safety of others. The political discussions need to be left to the side at times like this. There will be time for that later. Ben Carson also agreed that this is not the time to get political.

Huckabee and Carson made great points. We need a leader who can unite us during a time like that, not divide us even further by pushing the agenda of the left.
