Tim Allen has always been a little different than the rest of Hollywood. Despite high ratings, ABC has pulled the plug on Last Man Standing starring Tim Allen.
The show was perhaps the only broadcast network sitcom that appeals to conservatives. This comes off as a bit strange, since Allen has stated in interviews that the writers are liberal. The show is based around Mike Baxter (played by Tim Allen) who is the marketing director for a sporting goods store. He also happens to be a conservative. His wife Vanessa and three daughters are the other main chracters in the movie.
One of the episodes of season six had Baxter going off about politically correct "microagressions" and he gave this memorable speech for his daughter's graduation: “To quote future Nobel Prize winner Lee Greenwood, ‘I’m proud to be an American.’ Not just because I have the right to speak my mind or carry an awesome gun, but because it’s the land of opportunity. Some whiny babies might not think so, but in America, if you work hard, anyone can be successful.”
Allen has long been a proud conservative. He has even went far enough to voice his support for President Donald Trump. He has even went on Jimmy Kimmel Live and explained how Hollywood conservatives have to be very careful if they decide to discuss their political beliefs.
The cancelling of the show comes at a very strange time. Last Man Standing averaged 6.4 million viewers in its final season. This is above average for a Friday night comedy. It was down 5% this past season, but when compared to the normal 20-30% that most other sites are down, Last Man Standing is doing quite well.

@ABCNetwork cancelled Last Man Standing for politics. You just lost a viewer for all of your shows. No ABC in my home.

Last Man Standing Cancelled by ABC
It's easy to see why Last Man Standing was cancelled by ABC. Tim Allen is a conservative and Hollywood rejects his type. His show was doing well and the mainstream media was starting to take note of Allen being a conservative and especially Allen being a Trump supporter.
