It seems like every single comic has based everything they say around Trump. Well, not everyone. Dave Chappelle refuses to after Trump. Here's why.
The comedy king is going against the grain by not joining the rest of the comedy community and using the crap out of the anti-Trump angle. Chappelle told The New York Times that he does not want to be part of the "chorus."
While discussing some of his contemporaries still in the field, Dave Chappelle brought up Trump. "But the whole Trump things makes it harder for comedians," he said.
"He's so skewed, it's hard to find an angle that sounds fresh," he added. "If you talk about him, it's almost like you're part of the chorus and not a soloist."
Chappelle recently released a Netflix special and during it he rarely goes at Trump. This makes him different from the loads of comedians who love to rip Trump. These comedians dominate the culture.
Per Daily Wire:
Chappelle has recently taken heat for what the Left has deemed his "transphobic" jokes — another step off the liberal path.
Moreover, during the election, the comedy king shocked liberals by calling out Hillary Clinton's dirty tactics and even defending Trump.
"What I heard on that tape was gross," said Chappelle, referencing the infamous Access Hollywood tape. "But the way I got to hear it was even more gross. You know that came directly from Hillary."
The comedian noted that he already knew Mrs. Clinton was "not right" before the tape was leaked and debunked the Left's claim that Trump has admitted to "sexual assault" on the audio.
"Sexual assault? It wasn’t. He said, 'And when you’re a star, they let you do it.' That phrase implies consent. I just don’t like the way the media twisted that whole thing. Nobody questioned it," said Chappelle.
It's so easy to just go with the grain and rip Trump, like all of the other comics do. This is what makes Chappelle great. He creates great, original content instead of just following what everyone else does. The rest of the comics should take notes.
